First things first, congratulations on making this next decision of planning your wedding!
Planning a wedding can be a very smooth process when it is well organized and arranged beforehand.
When a wedding is well thought out – what happens before, during and after the ceremony, your wedding becomes the most magical experience you’ll ever have with your partner! This is called a TIMELINE.
By having a timeline, you can let them know by the hour of what will go on.
Here is an example of a wedding timeline with (my fave) First Look!:
12:00pm – Photographer arrives & sets up
12:15pm – Detail photos
12:45pm – Groom getting ready photos
1:00pm – Bride puts on dress
1:30pm – Bride & Groom First Look & Formal Portraits
2:00pm – Wedding Party Photos
2:30pm – Bride’s Family Photos
3:00pm – Groom’s Family Photos
3:30pm – Break before Ceremony
4:00pm – Ceremony
4:30pm – Receiving Line/Cocktail Hour
5:30pm – Introduce wedding party to reception
6:00pm – Supper
6:15pm – Cut Cake
6:45pm – Speeches
7:00pm – First Dances
7:30pm – Sunset Photos
8:00pm – Photographer leaves
You may ask yourself “What should I think about when making a timeline?” As I’ve mentioned, it is important to consider when your wedding party members show up. You can also think about how much time each session should take. You can talk about this with your wedding planner and of course, your partner. As for your wedding photographer, by letting them be aware of your timeline, they can have an idea of what moments to capture beforehand so that they are more prepared.
Ladies and gentlemen, having a simple timeline will be your key to a successful wedding, the more organized the wedding, the less stressful it is for everyone! Hope this helps you out 🙂
