How to pin a boutonniere
First thing’s first! The boutonniere is place on the left side of the suit.
- Identify the buttonhole on the suits. It is near the lapel. This will serve you as a guide on where to place your boutonniere.
- You want to place it at the left side of the lapel. Usually, the boutonniere will be place a little big below the tie.
- Remember to place it diagonally. As reference, follow the seam of the lapel.
- You need two pins to attach your boutonniere. One for the main pin, and the other will hold it in case the first one falls.
- Turn the lapel around. Pin the boutonniere using one of the pins. Make sure that the pin is piercing the stem of the flower. Since the seam of the lapel is at a diagonal, you want to pin the needle downwards.
- Use the other pin to add the extra security. This will ensure that it holds all night long while you dance
